Hysteria

History:
Hysteria first met the party in Voldaren as they were arrested for being suspicious and spent some time in a cell with the other party members. As an elf, it is likely that they hail from the Frozen Shores of Harandil.   Within the expedition party they are an Apothacarist.
In the abandoned goblin village in Garlem, Hysteria danced with Namina and DAN while the others explored the village, this dance was part of a ritual to help them see how the area is affected by magic.   Within the cavernous roots the party explored to find something ancient, Hysteria played a combination of offense and defense as they moved between different oponents hoping to prevent the tree's defenses from reaching Namina and Agave's ritual while DAN, Kaswink and Frode held the line. In the final resting place of the goblin's bones and the ancient thing that they were seeking, Hysteria was the one to insist to Frode that stealing from graves is fine cause they're dead before leaving the room with the artifact.
Inside the maze, Hysteria has largely been in favor of just getting out and not dawdling on each room, primarily as they do not want to visit their own trial in this maze. While they've been comforting to others and helping when they can, they did insist that "nothing good lies ahead" if they continued down Hysteria's path. They did hang back for a bit after this and have a secret conversation with whatever lies down that hall though.   As some of the adventurers were discussing how to proceed with the man in pain, Hysteria continued examining the area and eventually found a secret entrance to another room. Within this room they had a super secret conversation with a mysterious King which eventually led to the way forward and the maze's exit.
Upon arriving in the Spirit World Proper, Hysteria went on a brief scouting mission with Agave where they encountered something particularly spooky. This led to some paranoid thoughts that have stuck with Hysteria for some time.
While dealing with The Spirit of Christmas, Hysteria was transformed into a jack-in-the-box. They provided some insight into the way the world is changed when they took the Monkey's bait and nearly got eaten.
Hysteria's Paranoia was finally confronted when Namina began offering comforts and some Empathetic Salts to better understand what they're dealing with while giving them a bit of optimism in these trying times. This resulted in the spirit taking on a more physical form and causing everyone in the area to experience an immense amount of paranoia themselves. However, Hysteria, along with the rest of the Spiritual Travelers, was able to dispose of the spirit while conquering some of their own misgivings.
During their Downtime between Nurend 06-12, Hysteria spent much of their time working on poisons such as Paincap poison and Vine Beasts poison along with antidotes for them. They also developed an antidote by special request from Quince for the vine-beast seeds to help future tourists.   Unbeknownst to the rest of the party,

Hysteria also did some secret nighttime scouting to find a certain spirit. They did not find this spirit, but they did find some cool Frogs, along with a frog...person?

While in The Hidden Village of Mothlights, Hysteria spent some time busking with DAN. They earned a fair bit of strange keepsakes from the mothlings as tips along with some silk and a silk scarf.   In this village, they also helped translate Tympi's Journal and A Traveler's Guide to Dorchar. They also discovered a new recipe in Tympi's House.
While traveling toward The Old Woman's Cottage, Hysteria decided to scout ahead while the rest of the Spiritual Travelers slept. The information that they discovered would prove to be valuable in getting there without issue, and knowing what was inside the home. However, there was little followup on the contents of the house before a knock at the door interrupted any conversation or searching.   Additionally, during the travels to this cottage, Hysteria provided some insight about the spirit the group was following. Claiming it could be dangerous or just leading them off the path. The Leshy did end up leading them away from the Old Woman's Cottage, and into some dangerous situations as predicted, but it also provided some invaluable information...and there were somebody's bones out there.
While in Thera Relovut, Hysteria used their expertise as a sneaky jester person to pick locks in the Prison. This led to the discovery of the Warden's Office which contained a great deal of information about the history of this area along with a map and Strange Gem that seemed important.   Their ability to sus out poisons helped the Spiritual Travelers avoid several dangers while traveling through Pluarsh ec Relovut, and their paranoia helped keep everyone on their toes. Though their eagerness to climb Lemostodrensa led to a grievous hand injury which has yet to be treated.
While in the Eadarling civilizations, Hysteria voiced their concern over trusting anything that might be related to the Fae from their folklore. Their distrust led to some uneasy feelings amongst the group, though for the most part it was decided that somebody has to be trusted in this land or nothing will get done.   They helped the group acquire some mounts and a cart using their recently purchased Deck of Illusions, though this may end up hurting their reputation depending on what comes of that illusion.
While traveling back to the Mothlights with Tympi, they were confronted by Namina. Hysteria answered in rather suspicious and secretive ways, but ended up being truthful about what they could which helped Namina trust them. They also voiced their disdain for anything that Namina had concerns over them worshipping.   They also attempted to heal Tympi's blindness with a reverse-engineered blindness antidote, though it did not fully heal her.
While outside Thera Relovut, Hysteria stayed in camp and ate some food while keeping an eye on the meditating Namina. They were able to harvest her "fear blood" for her talisman, and they ended up helping Kaswink recover prisoners and refugees from Thera Relovut.
When paying Quince a visit at the Gate Camp, Hysteria helped knock Quince out to be later interrogated and kept watch to make sure nothing ruined the operation. They distracted a rather pushy tourist from interracting with Namina to much, and they ended up chasing after a plagued woman with Frode after the explosion.   This woman ended up suddenly transforming for Hysteria, and when she did so she became someone familiar to them. They ended up stabbing this person repeatedly until her body became a statue of a centipede holding a book.
While meeting with Simol, Hysteria did not seem to keen on trusting her and wanted nothing more than to stab her, however, they resisted thanks to intervention from the other Spiritual Travelers.
When dealing with the Whendigo, Hysteria pointed out, repeatedly, that the old fool was a "time vampire" which seemed to be a good theory as it caused the man some pain to hear.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Hysteria might be dying soon, who knows how time magic works when the timeline is restored?

Body Features

Hysteria is best described as a jester dressed in dark, nearly black, leather with bells hanging from various points, especially their shoes, that don't seem to make any noise. Their face is almost always obscured by a magical venetian mask that changes appearance based on their mood. Their weapon of choice is either one of the many daggers they carry or their trusty rapier. When not obscured by the mask it is apparent that Hysteria's heritage is Elven in nature. They're notoriously mute and communicate using a special form of Elven sign language, or carny symbols, depending on who they're communicating with.

Special abilities

Hysteria has demonstrated, to Namina's claim, the ability to hide their aura.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Not much is known about Hysteria's past, and they tend to keep silent about such things even with their new group of friends. Although, from what Namina has seen, they appear to be capable of hiding their aura, and they may have spent some time at a circus per DAN's memory.   Throughout their journey Hysteria has been mostly developing their relationship with Namina and DAN as they are the two members of the party that can understand Hysteria's sign language.   Hysteria appeared to have a rather particular connection to the mysterious king the party found in The Maze.
Hysteria's Candlelight Thought that they gave the Winter Hart was mostly just the smell of Oak. It was reminiscent of their bow and other wooden implements that they may have utilized, and this might suggest some connection to that particular type of tree. It is still unknown what this means.
Before reaching the Cottage, the group stopped at The Well of Darkness. Hysteria was unable to get near the well due to any protection available being used by Namina and Kaswink, but they did have some theories about the fragment after everything was dealt with. This fragment, if it is a piece of the crown seen in The Maze, might be connected to the King that Hysteria spent some time speaking to privately.   Hysteria theorizes, contrary to Kaswink's and other's thoughts that it might be the king that took Tympi, that whatever took Tympi also took the King and broke his crown. Additionally, they suggested that, rather than destroying or using it as bate, the fragment(s) could be used by the group to great benefit.
Hysteria has been experiencing some strange visions while doing their daily meditation. Visions of darkness with no hope of escaping, an unusual presence, and strange messages that escape their normally mute lips.   These messages are in a language that nobody understands very well, though Namina picked up some pieces having some knowledge of the elven language, and even Hysteria had a hard time putting together what exactly it meant.   The Message they said in The Swamp
“This is not what should be happening. This is not my design. Find the one that chitters endlessly and free me from its coiled mind. The memories I have for you all are being slowly devoured, and soon I will no longer be able to protect you from its grasp."
They had another unusual vision while meditating during the cart ride west away from Dorchar. This vision was the same hopeless darkness, but a point of light appeared at the last few seconds which eventually became a simple mask. The message their lips spoke was as lot shorter this time, just saying a few words before Hysteria's meditation and the vision ended.   The message they said while leaving Dorchar
I would have called it...

During the fight with The Unblinking Sein, Hysteria was restrained, pulled to the ground by tendrils of darkness with fears that he would be unable to move, unable to help those close to them, unable to complete this mission... and that they would die helpless.
During the Wheredigo dream, Hysteria played the part of a bush, capable of harming, warning, protecting and feeding the caterpillar. They chose to offer their leaves to it, but quickly retracted after experiencing the pain.
During the Tea Party with the Chittering Spirit, Hysteria asked a secretive question regarding their target and how to find them. The Spirit provided the cursed knowledge necessary to find this target.   Cursed Knowledge
"The one you seek is no longer herself, she is a hag in service to Simol, The Hag Empress. Her form is just a ...persona created by The Oni."
