The flying flux The World Timeline Timeline

The World Timeline

The creation of the Flying Flux is fairly... embarrassing by most planetary standards. Fortunately, those who live on Flux know a revised history that was made by the Chazra soon after Chazos withdrew.

Fluxuation

... 21 FFE

Chazos creates the Flying Flux
During this Era, Chazos began clumsily designing the fundamental rules of a cylindrical planet bent to resemble a ring. Fortunately, many of his loopholes were filled as the planet itself bent to the rules of its universe, but those that remain are exploited in a practice called "magic".

    Chazos Begins
    Construction beginning/end

As the unwilling creator of Flux, Chazos begins developing one of the most impractical worlds in existence. This occurred not long after he was ostracized by the other gods for his introverted nature and was assigned because such a task is "boring". Fortunately, the young god took an interest in this world during its creation and tried his best to morph it into a livable environment. After many failures, he simply gave up and decided to correct everything with magic.

Chazos Makes A Fish... Kind Of
    Life, Birth

While creating the first life on this world,
Chaz thought it wise to begin at sea (as do many planets, since most failed experiments will simply drown and become "legends"). This led to the creation of a fish known as "Planar", which still lives to this very day. Many have tried hunting this elusive creature, but none have ever been successful. Legend says this flat fish was far too big for the High Ocean and currently lies at the bottom, making up its entire floor. These legends would be correct.

    Chazos Breaks The World
    Disaster / Destruction

    Twelve years passed quickly.
Gods are immortal beings by nature, but Chazos was exceptionally young (barely 1171 at this point) and the many factors involved in creating a world can be oppressively overwhelming. Normally, scores of gods would spend nearly a hundred years on a single self-functioning planet, but Chazos spent a mere twenty-one years. The first twelve of which were full of unprecedented genius (even by gods' standards), until the youthful god accidentally broke off a large section of his ring-world. It is now typically referred to as the C-world.

    Chazos Smooshes The Sun
    Geological / environmental event

    After the ring-world had become a C-world,
Chazos was forced to manipulate physics in ways that were... illogical at best. He did find that spinning the sun one way and the C-world another would create two conflicting gravitational fields that would keep the oddly shaped planet perfectly in place. However, the rotation stretched the sun into a saucer. It was about this time that Chaz gave up on making a sane world and carved his own face into the sun. This was affectionately named the "coin sun style", which a few other pride-filled gods adopted in later years.

    The First Law of Perception
    Miscellaneous

Chaz soon realized he was a long way from creating a planet that might actually support intelligent life. It was then he decided to create a law no other god would even think possible (for good reason), which could theoretically solve many of his problems. The first version of Flux's primary law was then created.

    The newborn creatures were confused
Uncertain what to do, the intelligent beings created during the Fluxuation banded together in tribes. However, very little violence took place despite this separation thanks to the constant interventions of Chaz. To the great amusement of other gods, Chazos was forced to educate the Fluxers himself. From here on out, intelligent species hailed as the supreme residents of Flux.

      Localizing the Law of Perception
      Celestial

Chazos redesigns the Law of Perception so the only one affected by a worldview was the observer. This heavily reduced the amount of magic consumed by Flux, and allowed Fluxers a certain degree of individuality.

      Rise of the Parapoptsi
      Founding

An extremist group stems from the church, one dedicated entirely to serving 'Chazos's will'. The church quickly abandons this group, condemning the radical measures taken in this pursuit and claiming the creator sees all living beings as equal. Of course, no want really wants to accept this, and the group rapidly consumed a large majority of the church's followers.

      Creation of the Mage Association
      Founding

The The Parapoptsi have grown incredibly popular, especially among the higher classes. With it, prejudices against most forms of experimental magic and--by extension--mages grew more prevalent in every-day society. To counteract these dangers, a group of affluent mages founded an organization that would offer resources and protection.
