Mage Association

Those mages who've associated themselves with magehood banded together as religious prejudice gradually created zealots. In light of the Parapoptsi's rising popularity, and a sharp increase in murdered mages, these researchers decided it would probably be most wise to create an organization that would protect them. Because most successful mages are quite rich, this was not a very troublesome task.

Structure

To join, one must be able to maintain a certain fee. The exact amount is based on the number of magical discoveries one has made, which forces successful mages into supporting the organization to retain validity. Without a mage association seal, a magical discovery is considered to be unreliable and often times even dangerous, so this organization is required.

Public Agenda

They provide sanctuary for their members, even from the government itself. The Mage Association will also regulate or even test new spells before releasing them to the public, which protects underdeveloped mages from accidentally murdering their customer(s). Being approved will remove responsibility from the spell's creator and place it on the organization itself, which can save an individual mage's reputation.

Assets

This association grew very quickly and its influence soon became almost as far-reaching as the Parapoptsi itself, which has led to some unofficial skirmishes between the two groups. Mage Centers are located in nearly every town and city in Flux. Each of these are stocked with resources that are sold at a discount to its members, but will become free should a crisis arise that might threaten the life of a mage.
