Ooze Dragon

Ooze dragons are a species of dragon, and one of the seventeen main dragon types. Ooze dragons have the same variations as a regular slime, and these slime types can be found on the article about slimes.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Unlike every other dragon, ooze dragons possess no internal organs of any kind, no bones or muscles or scales. They are created completely from slime. Their appearance can vary greatly between ooze dragons, and sometimes even the same ooze dragon will look much different than it did a few days ago.

Genetics and Reproduction

The method of creation and reproduction of ooze dragons vary. Standard ooze dragons are born in underground cave systems, where there are primordial pools of slime from the very beginning of time. In these cave areas, magic has begun to condense so much that it appears in liquid form. An ooze dragon is created when this liquid magic mixes with its pool. Usually, it takes five to six drops of liquid magic to create a standard ooze dragon. It is unknown what mechanism allows this to happen, as typically, primordial slimes cannot absorb more than three drops of liquid magic total.   For most other species of ooze dragon, they reproduce by eating enough of their material to split in two. For example, a lava ooze dragon would consume more and more lava until it is full, and then will produce a new ooze dragon that splits off from the original.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dragons mature very quickly at the start of their life, both physically and mentally. As time passes, this growth slows to a normal rate, and stays that way for the rest of their lives. During the first six years or so, dragons will grow at an incredible rate.

Ecology and Habitats

Forests and cave systems, underground areas, Etrix, Hedira, possibly Vaepra

Dietary Needs and Habits

Ooze dragons are omnivores and have no preference either way. Most slimes feed by enveloping their food and dissolving it over a period of a few weeks. Ooze dragons that that have just been born via liquid magic subsist entirely on water, and usually only need a small amount to sustain themselves.

Behaviour

Slime dragons are incredibly lazy and slow, asleep more often than they're awake. When they are awake, they're good-natured and friendly, and try to make friends with everyone they meet. They seem to enjoy the company of cloud dragons most.

Higher than human

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

In addition to the standard slime abilities, ooze dragons have:
  • Slime "Breath": While not technically a breath weapon, ooze dragons can shoot a stream of their own body out of their "mouth", and attach it to someone or something. They can then pull the object/person into their body or throw them away.
  • Slime Magic: Ooze dragons have the ability to use slime-related magic.
