The Lakecountry
This region has the densest population centers in the Successor Kingdoms. This urbanization is possible because of the rich agricultural areas surrounding Grey Lake. This large lake, and its tributaries, provide irrigation and irrigation benefits. Cargo can easily travel from The Gradr Highlands, through the Lakecountry, and out to sea from The Vamman Bay.
The Lakecountry is geographically diverse, though the lake and river system binds the region together. There are a number of different biomes and climates found in the overall region.
The Giannifyran grasslands to the east are home to the unique Bronze Elder trees.
Marshes are found near Grey Lake. Most notably in The Duchy of Marshes, but also in Free Tannog and The Duchy of Ulfyre.
The north has rocky forests and a significant maritime culture. The Rivals of Penzstedt and The Kingdom of Bolsrend stand off across Vamman Bay.
The Kingdom of Cartambra and The Republic of Odiria have significant pine forests, making the few roads even more important. They both border The Gradr Highlands and have hills and mountains of their own.
The Duchy of Para and The Kingdom of Acilbila are heavily river-centric. Small communities line the wide rivers.
The Kingdom of Semiona is considered part of The Storm Coast, but has lands that extend into The Lakecountry.
Lakelanders are a proud people, and have not forgotten their powerful former position in The Ruvian Empire. The diverse and squabbling region means that it is easy for two Lakelanders two find reason to dislike each other.
Geography
Rivers and lakes define the region. A variety of biomes exist within this region.
Natural Resources
Fishing in Grey Lake and its rivers is common. The water is often drawn to irrigate fields and paddies.
