Marsher
Though related to Lakelanders and Ruvians in general, the Marshers are a distinct culture. These people speak a unique dialect of the common Ruvian language. They grow rice instead of wheat and other grains, and resist outside influence in their affairs.
Travel within the marshes is often accomplished with marsh rafts rather than River Barges or Lake Boats. Communities are small, and often built on the only dry land that can be found.
Marshers are commonly found in The Duchy of the Marshes, where they are generally left alone. They also have significant presence in Free Tannog, and contributed significantly to that realm's struggle for independence from The Principality of Everhal. Marshers often have a kinship with Tannan Gnomes. The former inhabit the ground level and waters, which the later build their homes in trees.
