Lakelanders
Lakelanders are a proud people, and have not forgotten their powerful former position in The Ruvian Empire. The high population density along Grey Lake and its rivers means many rival cities have grown in close proximity to each other. The diverse and squabbling region means that it is easy for two Lakelanders two find reason to dislike each other.
Most realms have significant dependence on rivers, lakes, or the sea. For this reason, Lakelanders often profess a nautical expertise.
Lakelanders continue many of their parent Ruvian traditions and practices, including the language.
A sub-culture within the The Lakecountry is that of The Marshers. These people speak a unique dialect of the common Ruvian language. They grow rice instead of wheat and other grains, and resist outside influence in their affairs.
Tannan Gnomes are found in the area, but are generally considered separate from Ruvian cultures.
