Season 1, Episode 2: "The Hail Mary" Report
General Summary
The party found themselves in the Dreamlands once again, and shared two separate dreams. The first was a strange recording from Chompsky and an unknown woman, who were present on the Forge in an attempt to help the Android prisoners there. However, they gained the attention of "Marcus", who had sent the Gorgon after them, and presumably decided to flee.
The second focused on Isra, who met the mysterious Entity through a planar link. Entity warned Isra that she was in great danger, and informed the party that Skiv and Tesin Movahesh knew more than they had shared. Of interest, it seems that Skiv killed the last group of Mining Team 4, after they attempted to use a nucelear warhead (which Tesin has been hiding in the party's cell) to damage the prison. Entity's last piece of information was rushed, but stated that Cornelius was the key to their most-likely route of escape.
After waking, Isra discovered that the squirrel in question was missing, and that the party had overslept. They barely had time to get ready before being rushed into the Mess Hall, where Nakira Umbutu threatened Mining Team 6 in front of the entire prison. She tried to convince Zipper to keep her team on the orbital station, but the Point declined. After a warning from Poppy, the party learned that Jenny Rosa had given them a gemstone from Mining Team 5's turf, and Nakira was furious. While initial negotiations were attempted, the hard-headed vanguard seemed hell-bent on getting answers the hard way, and Poppy refused to mediate.
Of note, Pin arrived at the end of breakfast, and revealed that she had no memories of the previous day, and had a new story for why she had been imprisoned on the Sauna. On Sauna Station, Balio Sondern found two extra C4 units strapped to the bottom of his locker, whereas Tesin discovered a painted handprint - which was identical to her own...
With little time to think before rushing out to Varos, Mining Team 6 clashed with Nakira at the gates of the station, a 6-vs.-1 fight that quickly became an 8-vs-1 when Livewire and Shi-Shi got involved behind the scenes. A beautiful, calculated strike from Tesin sealed the deal, when her Solarion blade sliced open Nakira's suit and water pack, leaving her defenseless without the help of her reluctant squad. After a tense discussion, Nakira decided she would investigate the party's allegations against Mining Team 4, and left with her team.
After a brief rest and some quick decisions, Skiv shared a potential mining spot in Mining Team 3 territory, which the party decided to explore. After some amazing rolls, they found a quint-node with three A-Class stones, 1 C-Class, and then a Drift Stone! Chad discovered a geometric key in embedded in the ore vein, which was unfortunately broken during its retrieval, but still copied by Cornelius. The guards later confiscated the pieces from Lockette, although they did not dish out a punishment.
The party then settled once more to sleep, knowing that the next three days were going to be on Sauna, the first of which included breakfast with the Warden...
