Season 11, Episode 1: "Closing Time" Report

General Summary

Drifting in and out of slumber within their hospital beds, the Dream Team was plagued by a strong vision from the Haze (see It Won't Be Long - Season 11), and Mist floated away from his body in search of answers in the Astral Plane. Over the hours, Wyatt and Ilvarti arrived to oversee the crew's security, and Alignmatists were called in to address the corruption of their auras following the fall of Pharasma's Spire.   They summoned Albus Rickette for answers, mulling over the possibility of escaping to other Petals, although Isra cited concerns of upending the status quo at their destination. The conversation roamed around various possible end goals, with some of the party in partial agreement, whereas others chose to remain silent. In the end, they all agreed on one thing — the importance of securing Lalantha from their enemies, and thus an immediate need to return to the Rambling Road, to obtain the last of the Ruby Keys.   In the night, Flay had troubling dreams of the lighthouse flickering in Dylath-Leen, suddenly bolstered by some unseen force. In the morning, both she and MaMa felt emboldened with divine might, their auras fully restored to their previous state. But with the summons from the Pact Council looming, the crew begrudgingly decided that time was of the essence, leaving further investigations to the side in favor of a quick trip to the markets, and then ascending to the very top of Absalom Station.   They were welcomed into the Plenara by Cambrisa Jun, a high priest of Eloritu and Archmage of the Circle of the Substantial Stone. Although officially only meant to guide the Dream Team to the Directorate's chamber, she took the opportunity to question the crew about their motives, and if they knew anything about a massive planetoid that had just appear outside Liavara. Having seen this in their dreams, Mist confirmed that this was indeed Jedarat, or a starship that had once been housed inside it. He confirmed that they had a friend on the vessel (Anastasia), and that he could tell her more if she wished.   Prompted by her question, Mist used the power of the Bard to reach out into the universe, and knowledge flooded into his mind. He shared that the starship coming out of Jedarat was known as Ark Prime, a Sivv Dominion colony ship containing the remnants of the Sivv people, which also contained powerful technology considered a descendant of the mighty Stellar Degenerator — a star destroyer captured by the Starfinder Society a few years past.   They were seeking the Worldseed, another Sivv ship considered lost many eons ago, which in reality had been captured in Liavara's orbit and had begun to awaken several months prior. It contained all the materials required to create a completely new planet and native life, but lacked an energy source powerful enough to fulfill its purpose. Cambrisa wondered if they had picked up the Starstone in their scans of the system, but her musings were cut short as the party arrived in front of the Directorate's doors.   Inside, they were greeted by the remaining members of the Pact Worlds Directorate — Klendalikh, Losifaran, Zia Choh, Lin Camulan, and Milgan Nivaris Katchal Andar. Foremost on their list was the destruction of the Boneyard at Lockette's hand, who wasted no time with deceit, and plainly told them the reasons for her choice. Although not entirely convinced, they warned that regardless of the Council's message, they would have to survive the court of public opinion in these trying times, and granted the group 24 hours to publicly communicate the meaning of their actions. Then they discussed the looming danger of Ark Prime, the war between Bast and Crow, and what it meant for the future of the Entwined Infinities.   The crew had no convincing answers, only implying that they meant to take the offensive, leaving their many allies gathered at Absalom Station to defend it — and that hell or high water, that would have to be enough...   On cue, a wave of power rippled through the station, and a shadow blotted out the stars. Crow's voice boomed over the radios, broadcasting from the center of the massive Ark Prime, which dwarfed even the Forge in size.
Crow: "Did you think I would wait for you?"
Then a blue beam of light stabbed into the base of Absalom Station, the Starstone flickering, and then the entire station went dark.
