Senia Kiren
Imperial Cartographer (a.k.a. Commander Kiren)
Senia Kiren is the head of the Imperial Cartographers' Guild of Keymouth. As such she is in charge of official documents and maps of the Cerulean Empire.
Senia seems genuinely friendly and empathetic. She is proud of, and confident in, herself, and believes it is important to behave wisely. She believes you shouldn't just accept the hand you were dealt - go your own way. Senia puts practicality above most things.
Before she was the Imperial Cartographer, Senia was a member of the Imperial Navy, achieving the rank of Commander. Many citizens of the empire still lovingly refer to her as "Commander Kiren".
It was during her time in the Navy that she first explored the furthest eastern reaches of The Azure Sea. As she tells it, after exploring the fringes of the Drowned Jungle and encountering some of the local tribes folk and their strange, reptilian beasts of burden, something stirred inside Kenia, and she was determined to explore and find out more. This lead to her first expedition, the aim of which was to find the Lost City of Amakeo. The expedition was unsuccessful, but the love of exploration and map-making had been awoken within Kiren, and she never looked back.
It was also during that time that she met the young Emperor Vilihame Jehen, and they struck up an unlikely friendship that continues to this day.
Senia has no children, and does not feel the need to have any. She firmly believes that her exploring days are not behind her.
Appearance and Mannerisms
Senia stands tall and proud, and her youthful appearance belies her age. She wears simple academic robes and is always to be found carrying a few books and papers. She wears a pair of half-eye spectacles on the end of her nose. Senia speaks quickly, in an excitable voice, and has a wild energy and air of excitement, especially when dealing with mysteries and the unknown.Notable Achievements
Senia's crowning achievement is probably the official Imperial Map of the Known World, the first, and widely accepted to be the most accurate, map of The Azure Sea and it's environs. She has also overseen the drawing up of many other maps, with a particular focus on maritime environments and ocean currents, which are still widely used by the Navy. She was the first mariner to map the currents of the dangerous Kraken Straits. A few years ago Senia was credited with discovering the final resting place of the famed bard Hubert Deepburrow Thorow, on the island of Marduff. Senia often serves as an advisory member of the Cerulean Senate at the Emperor's behest.
