Cartographers' Guild of Keymouth

The Cartographers' Guild of Keymouth is one of the oldest professional guilds in the world, having been formed almost 500 years ago.
The guild was fundamental to the growth of the Cerulean Empire and to the expansion of it's early years. The maps (both of the land and of safe sea routes and ocean currents) allowed the fledgling Empire to expand rapidly at that time.
Over the years the Guild has been known by several names. One that has stuck is the nickname of "The Trotters", short for "The Globetrotters". The role of the Guild within the Empire has changed somewhat since its inception. It now serves several functions including the mapping of unexplored regions to the east of The Azure Sea, the study and anthropology of other cultures, and as scouts for the Imperial Navy.
The current leader of the Guild, Senia Kiren, is said to be well-favoured by Emperor Vilihame Jehen, who relies on her for information on the world outside the boundaries of the Empire.
The Cartographers' Guild is still seen as a prestigious place to find employment, especially for those with enough wanderlust, inquisitiveness, or bravery to seek out work here. They will also often find training here in skills as diverse as wilderness survival, astronomy and ocean navigation.
