Personal history
Originally a disgruntled engineer and inventor, John Perkins had his inventions presented by co-worker Harold Irmin for years. When his prototype for a synthetic spray skin was ‘stolen’ and presented as Irmin’s own (which earned Irmin a promotion and Perkins a negative mark on his performance review) Perkins sought revenge. Already in shape from periodic training for marathons, he added a dazzling array of technology to his arsenal and proceeded to rob banks to further fund his inventions which he uses to strike out at Lex Corp and Irmin who he sees as his personal nemesis.
Just as he began his plan of revenge, he was confronted by Taki , Trickshot (as “Statesman”) and Mr Glass who convinced him into helping stop the greater threat at the time which was the Hammer Empire. Once over, John rethought his plan and work, deciding to follow the three heroes guidance and become a hero himself before it was too late.
Currently, he serves as the team’s technical expert and inventor. Current inventions are the C.O.I.L. (Carbon nanotube, Optical Fiber Interface Layering) Armor MK 2, Tesla S.P.I.D.E.R. (Scalable Processor-Independent Data Entry and Retrieval) Mark 1, and M.A.I.V.E. ("Modular Aerial Ionic VEhicle") the air car for the team.
Since dealing with a crystalline villain, supposedly named Amber – a djinn – where SPIDER download information and trapped a virus in its programming, some of its original acquisition coding has resurfaced only with the Knight’s Vigilant being the ‘base’ that it owes allegiance to. There is also an odd twitch with one leg.
Employment
Tesla Coil works hard at supporting his team, the Knights Vigilant, but during the day he works at the engineering consulting firm, Questworks Engineering, Ltd with his co-inventor, business partner, and more, Donata.
Accomplishments & Achievements
- M.A.I.V.E. ("Modular Aerial Ionic VEhicle") A modular aircar used by the Knights Vigilant, nicknamed it the "Fantasticar" because it can transform between hoverbikes and aircar.
- C.O.I.L. (Carbon nanotube, Optical Fiber Interface Layering) Armor, a power armor design focused on defense, search and rescue and more
- Tesla S.P.I.D.E.R. (Scalable Processor-Independent Data Entry and Retrieval), an artificially intelligent robotic assistent in a compact crab/spider housing with an attitude!
