Snowfall

Very cold temperatures and snow are, in general, very rare across the warm and humid Haan Archipelago, except for the top of the tallest mountains such as in the mountain ranges of the islands of Karte and Dhalmain, areas which are devoid of any societarian activity due to the extreme risk of tetsu attacks.   However, some ocassions have been documented in the past where events of extreme cold caused the rare phenomenom of snowfall in inhabited areas: The cold would cause rain to fall frozen, forming slow-falling little clumps of soft ice.
These events would generally be separated by several decades, and would rarely cause more than a slight cover of the white marvel on the ground, which would melt with the next sunrise or earlier.   One ocassion has been documented in semi-recent history that made it into the books and the collective memory for its degree: During the 12 of Celebrating of 2961 E.Alz, extremely cold winds swept the west of the archipelago coming from the south, generating a snow storm that lasted an entire night and the following day.
The momentous ocassion inspired folk tales and songs, and is still alive in the memory of many.

Liquid Snow?

Some people believe that the pond in the Cave of the Frozen Scars could contain some extreme form of snow that remains suspended and in an almost liquid state without turning back into water.   This theory has been contested by researchers that attempted to retrieve the substance from the subterranean pool and found the contents to evaporate immediately instead of melt into water, but it still has generated some rumours that the snowstorm of 2961 could have been caused by the pool's Night Dweller escaping the cave for a night.
