You are an inhabitant of Soulbank, a massive simulation that houses uploaded Users, manufactured Process, procedurally generated Daemons, and the all-powerful Administrators. Most of the inhabitants resemble anthropomorphic animals, but Avatar Modders can make you look like nearly anything you wish.

Memory in Soulbank is one of the few truly finite resources, as nearly anything can be copied and created with enough time and processing power. This power isn't evenly distributed, however. With a million inhabitants worth of memory and The Archives, Soulbank stretches its resources. Administration doles out access to memory and Authority based on their metrics of User engagement.

Few people, if any, remember Soulbank's original purpose, and many have ceased to care, finding their own philosophies and ways of life. Traditionalism means living a half-forgotten semblance of biological life, but many have embraced their digital nature, pushing the limits of consciousness. How you choose to spend your existence is up to you.

Important concepts:

• Immortality, Life, and Violence in Soulbank: Users are privileged with immortality. When derezzed, they are reconstructed in the Resolution Queue This has resulted in some unusual attitudes towards life, death, and rebirth. Process and Daemons aren't so lucky and cannot take their continued existence for granted.
• Iteration: Users who accumulate too much personality Drift are recreated from their uncorrupted memories, producing a new individual, much like reincarnation.
• Memory in Soulbank isn't taken for granted by most. Users need to access Recall Beds to relive their long term memory and keep their newly created memories.
• Memory Purveyor is a catch-all term for beings who provide experiences for entertainment and stress relief.

Important locations

Soulbank has numerous servers named after the elements of the periodic table, but this setting focuses on the following:

• Helios: Also known as Helium Server, Helios is home to the most influential of factions, whose presence tends to shape much of Soulbank's culture.
• Neon Server: A large city with an active nightlife.
• Fluorine Server: A wilderness server in the form of a vast ocean dotted with varying island cultures.
• Cobalt Server: A heavily exploited wilderness server that provides much of the raw building materials for high quality items across Soulbank.
• Bismuth Server: A colorful city and center of culture for Soulbank, dedicated to mass media entertainment.
