Resolution Queue

Sometimes known as The Stack by those deemed troublemakers by Administration, the Rez Queue is where the scattered data of derezzed Users is reassembled under their UID. This is how the system preserves Users as a immortal citizens. The location of the Rez Queue is a closely guarded secret, but it is speculated to run isolated from the rest of Soulbank for maximum security. The Queue is far from perfect, however, and deresolution usually results in personality Drift.

Dreams are a common experience among such Users during the process, but Users who have caused some degree of instability know it for the interrogations. While Administration is hard-coded to respect User privacy and autonomy, they and their Troubleshooters can still extract some amount of useful information from the process. On the opposite end, some Users attempt to find meaning in the dreams they experience, to the point of there being enthusiasts for the process.

Improper deresolution can lead to a User remaining in the Queue as their UID lingers in the world as a Shade. Soulbank's code typically does not allow separate processes to operate underneath the same UID. The Order of the Shade is a cult dedicated to achieving this state, expecting some form of revelations or enlightenment. Whether or not a Shade can be thought of as the same being as the User is a matter of debate among philosophers.
