The City of Banpour (Bahn-Poor)

The City of Banpour, formerly known as Muruna, is the largest city in Banpour, serving as the country's economic, cultural and historic hub. The city is built between the 2 largest bodies of water within The Spotted Oasis, marking the end of The Highroad's northwestern route. It has a population of over 25 million residents, comprising 52% of the population of Banpour, it is the most populous and largest city in the world.

History

The city was founded as Muruna in the Age of Destruction by Draego settlers from The Old World. When Empress Ro Jedark D'Gemut declared Aard Ghazanaan her new imperial capital, the next city established was Muruna, named for the Empress' mother. The city grew in size and influence, eventually becoming a beacon of trade along the Highroad, and one of the most important cities in Solace's history. After Banpour's Rebellion, the city played a key role in the advancement of The Church of the Divine Monarchy during the Age of Mankind, hosting four of the first seven divine councils before its transformation into The City of Banpour. In 760 A.D, after The Sacking of Banpour, Sarran temporarily replaced the city as the capital of the newly formed Nation of Banpour, until the city was reclaimed in 781 A.D. Once it was returned to Human control, it was used as the launching point for The Reclamation War, serving as a bastion for the Banpouri military. Since that time, the city has not changed hands again and has stood as the capital city of Banpour for nearly 500 years.
