Draego (Dray-Go)

The Draego are a sapient species of large bipeds that are direct descendants of Dragons, who can share many characteristics with them including scales, claws, tails, wings, and powerful Dragonsbreath. Their society once governed The Outside World and The Isle of Solace, but now is limited mostly to Mount Burst and scattered pockets in other settlements. Their numbers are low and it is difficult for them to coexist with other races, partially due to their inherent draconic qualities, but mostly due to their history. They are best for players that enjoy well-rounded characters that always have multiple options, or players that enjoy a role-playing challenge.

History

The Draego are the former imperial power in Solace, founding Aleuzlatu under the Empress Ro Jedark D'Gemut. Using their Great Iron Ships, Dragons, and a military superpower built by slave labor, they broke through the Storm Barrier the protects Solace. Although records are scarce, it is believed that the Draego were responsible for the Retreat of the Gods, and the ruination of The Outside World through heavy industrialization.
One quality that they once shared with Dragons was an Immortal Soul, which allowed them to live life without the ravages of old age. There are still living Draego that are immortal, but ones born in recent eras are losing their spark, with the first Draego dying of old age in the late 800's. Some theorize that this loss of immortality has something to do with The Tragedy of Mamlakat Hadaan, but no concrete connections have been discovered.
