High King Banpour

The High King Banpour is a title given to the inheritor of the divine right of kings, or divine right, and supports the political and religious doctrine of Banpour's constitution and The Divine Monarchy. The title stems from a specific metaphysical framework in which a monarch inherits The Crown, chosen by the Gods and remade in the image of Banpour the Hero. According to the law, the subjects of The Crown have actively (and not merely passively) turned over the metaphysical selection of the king's soul – which will inhabit the body and rule them – to The Lord of the Sun. In this way, the "divine right" originates as a metaphysical act of humility and/or submission towards the Gods. Divine right has been a key element of the legitimization of Banpour in the tumultuous years following The Tragedy of Mamlakat Hadaan, inspiring and bolstering the people with righteous fervor.   In Banpour, the position of High King Banpour carries a sacral meaning; that its authority overlaps with that of a high priest and judge, in addition to the powers of a king. While the nation is not exclusively a theocracy, the executive position of High King has an inalienable religious significance for humanity. Although a High King need not necessarily rule through his religious authority, most do, which makes the separation between the three pillars less defined when the current king leans too far in the direction of the Uchaguru or Yuddeva.   In addition to ruling over Banpour, the High King also acts as the head of The Council of Kings, mediating relations between other nations and upholding the core principles of the council. The current High King Banpour is Tizac Saraan.
