The Church of the Divine Monarchy

The Church of The Divine Monarchy, also known as the CDM, The Cult, and The Church of Humanity, is the largest organized religion in Solace. While it is fairly young in terms of international institutions, and has played a prominent role in the history and development of Human civilization in the aftermath of The Tragedy of Mamlakat Hadaan. The church consists of 3 Houses, dedicated to the Sun, the Moon, and the Maiden, which comprise 34 religious districts located around Solace. The Uchaguru, who presides over the district of The City of Banpour, is the highest officiant of the church. This district, known as The First Pillar, is the central governing authority of the church. The administrative body of The First Pillar, the Banpouri Court, has its principal offices in The City of Banpour, and a smaller enclave in the Fel city of Garou, which the Felize Holy Council operates.

History

The church represents the salvation of humanity, and the ability for them to defend themselves from the ever-looming threats in a hostile world. Famously, when the The Tragedy of Mamlakat Hadaan devastated the Draego, Banpour the Hero was stricken with divine inspiration. The Lord of the Sun descended to him and blessed him with The First Sword Spear, which held the power of the sun within it, and two divine steeds named Roshan and Ragar. He used this power to kill the masters of the great desert city, then known as Muruna, and claimed it as the first bastion of humanity in Solace.   This event established three primary symbols of the faith: The Sword Spear, The Twin Steeds (and by extension the horse), and The Divine King. When representing any of the Three Pillars of Banpouri society, The Twin Steeds symbolize the Church, the Divine King represents The Crown, and the Sword Spear represents the Savaarsena. When these symbols come together, they typically form an image of Banpour riding into battle on a bronze chariot pulled by his steeds, wielding a sword spear that shone as bright as the sun. As symbolized by the steeds, the church is a workhorse that provides tireless support to the people and institutions of Banpour, making sure that tradition and order are properly upheld.
