General Summary

Spent day intown see if something fishy is up and investigated. Pissed off some plants and almost died for it.
Summary
We found out more about the Musk Lily through autopsy. Apparently they can climb and hang on ceilings (terrifying) and don't have an apparent means to digest theur prey. They are linked to the acrid marmelade. How exactly we are not sure, but where the marmelade is the fungi are too. Meanwhile the guards found the reason for the foul smelling water - a huge heap of acrid marmelade. They scooped out all the jelly from the well and uncovered a cavern behind it, We also re-investigated one of the ships and found the smuggler's alchemy lab. The crew was arrested but the captain fled. Afterwards we rested at the inn while the guards kept watch to make sure nothing vame out odf the well.

Muir is setting next to the corpse of the plant. We go to town to get help.
Arti gets distracted by a red and blue crab fighting each other.
Saga will try to find Ingrid - doesn't but spots a guard, Young 16 yr old
Ingrid to examine specimen, rare plant
today's youth I swear - Saga
crab duels/champions - the new fad
in Ingrid hut - no light nor smoke = not home
to tavern - square guards bring bucket up and chugging contents into crate - jelly like substance - Acrid Marmelade
aida overheard jelly blob convo - Ingrid meeting with capn Alaric
we ask if guards can help carrying - get 4 guards to help - sent to reservoir

Ingrid and Alaric in office - 30 min ever since jelly thing
10 min pass - we are finally allowed in

guard went in the well the small entry in the well is now a large hole filled with jelly - they are scooping it out atm
is the jelly created by the Musk Lily?

Pungent smell clear as you enter town, take it to one of the siderooms

smell doesn't trigger anything in Sagas memories

knife to corpse - sound of bark being split
Ingrid opens up and milky fluid comes out - inside is like a prepared mush marbled and veiny
looks like mush on inside
milky fluid is milk capfluid, mycellin - same as on humans and animals???
its a fungus not a plant
around the stem - small holes 2-pronged thing jutting out - the tongue
might be motion sensitive - not sure how it detects anything
no roots, alive floats - killed sinks maybe it was swimming or proppeling itself??
saga smelt the jelly back on the boat - in or stuck to it?
all jelly removed from well nut there's a cavern down there now
that was not there before
murder plants in reservoir - to remove
jelly everywhere
sudden cavern - check for more of those plants
foul smell on ship - check before they skedaddle - Alaric and Arti to investigate
inspect plant - ingrid, Saga and Muir: moves itself with leaves on the bottom muscle like structure, have hooks to climb on walls and ceilings, 5 tongues/vines, 5 seeds are sensory organ not seeds they are very basic eyes (rudimentary)
not clear what they do with wath they capture
is this a drone plant??? like beehive?? - gather food for queen plant
puts fire to mush - burns very slowly - fire not really useful

captain agrees theres a peculiar smell - faint and not always there in cargo near spices
crew dont smell or see shit
we move the spices up to smell better
concealed under crate is latch that goes down, crate is empty!
first listen to trapdoor annd then enter - keep in mind next time
once latch open acrid fouls smell but mostly sulfuric
go down!
small alchemy lab - halfling size made
clay brick and fuses, small chest in corner
wooden tankard on desk filled with marmelade notes around it
gnomish notes dating month or 2 back
jelly in safehouse - not sure what it is but smell horrible
days later - no source doesnt react to anything i do just there - smell fading color becoming more clear turning into water or evapo
maverick come bask from stocking holds -said smt about flower - might be useful for potions
flower not friendly - last half his men - eliminated it - more jelly - check other holds
lot more stuff obtained from nooks and cranny of holdings foul smell remains - bad feeling - found it next to remains of fish and crabs
week ago - think i know - jelly is how they reproduce - destroy to prevent spread - tasked to bomb stockings
2 day ago - foreigner in one of our stocking - hope jelly got caught in fire
Alaric opens chest - black bottle with stopper and vibrant purple cord - takes it to investigate (purple smoke bottle)
arrest the captain - time to bring her in - Alaric
capn merida you're hereby under arrest for smuggling - but she fled through back window
bounty on her now - crew arrested ships conficated

Muir recognises bottle on Alaric's hip - warns about using it to gas people
Gretchen could help? - ask it when delivering foods to convince her, she hasnt left tower in 30 yrs

she used to do it more often in the past before she became a hermit
Back in the station:
room turned into dry room
inform Ingrid - bottle invest at her hut
