Musk Lily

Plant impersonators

The musk lily is the name Arti has given to a foul smelling giant flower-like fungus encountered at the Seeblick Reservoir. They float across the water surface and appear to move slowly. However they compensate for this with their long range attacks: [
  • they shoot their seeds at their enemies (the seed starts glowing before firing) - radiant
  • They grab their prey using their long tongues - dex save
Apparently they can also climb and hang on ceilings.
Fire doesn't seem to deal extra damage to them as they are too wet and filled with water.
It is possible poison is also not that effective.
They might require humidity to survive.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The species resemble a giant lotus or lilies. Their petals have a brown-green color. They have enlarged centers resembling the core of an apple. 5 thick black seed-like eyes surround the center in a pentagonal shape. In the center there is an orifice (like a mouth). Surrounding the stem are small holes with a 2-pronged vine/tongue jutting out. They can extend their tongue for at least 60 feet, but it takes time to retract. It uses the leafs at its bottom to swim atop the water. They also have hooks with which they can attach themselves to rock surfaces to climb. Up close it can be seen that they appear to be made up of a combination of bark, leaf and fungus.
When cut a milky fluid flows out from the creature. The inside of the creature is marbled and veiny like a cooked mushroom.

Genetics and Reproduction

They might reproduce through the production of the Acrid Marmelade?

Growth Rate & Stages

They appear to grow rapidly. The day after the encounter at the Seeblick Reservoir they seemed to habe increased in size.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They don't appear to have any means of digesting what they catch even though they are clearly designed to hunt prey. A terrifying theory is that they work like a beehive and these drones are to bring their prey to the queen.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They respond to ripples in the water and seem to be aware of sound. They are probably motion sensing.
They have rudimentary vision thanks to their eyes.
