Acrid Marmelade
Foul smelling goop in the worst places
We need to identify the tar-like acrid smelling goop found in the Smuggler's Cave .
We currently have handed over a jar of the stuff to Ingrid for inspection.
Current info
Water dissolution: the subtances appears to dissolve in water or at the very least it becomes see-through
The stuff appears to be flammable but not explosive.
The Chemist investigated the stuff as well - her notes gave the following info:
It first appeared in one of their safehouses about 2 months ago
they couldn't find the source, but it didn't seem to react to anything
after some time the jelly turned more clear and odourless, according to them it either evaporated or turned into water
later they discovered a Musk Lily and lost a lot of men to it, during this they uncovered alot more of the marmelade near remains of fish and crabs
a week ago they decided to bomb all their holdings to destroy the jelly
Theories
New
The marmelade seems inherently linked to the recently discovered Musk Lily. Where there is goop, they seem to be near. Currently its function is unclear (The Chemist thinks maybe it's for reproduction?, Could be a byproduct of digestion?).
Old
Appears like the part of the body in a far decomposed state - bones turn to a jellylike substance after a very long time
There are mushrooms that hasten this process to sustain themselves of the jelly: Gravekeepers
However they do not grow near Seeblick.
The substance could have been created through a chemical process.
The Sea lizards do not produce a slime, so it's unlikely it's derived from them.

Resolved
The Marmelade was indeed a product of the fungus from which Lichenposter spawn. Was Being investigated by the Chemist.
