Lymrah

Thousands of years ago the first elves to call Ossin home found that they were able to tap directly into the Leylines that emanated from the Portals of Arcane Energy and crisscrossed the planet. Now in the present day with one of the Portals split in two and the power significantly dwindled only a select few are still able to access this school of magic known as Lymrah. Most elves know that they have a 5% chance of being able to access this power with there being an even smaller chance at finding a proficient teacher.

History

Started by the elves of old just after they were cast out by Corellon, they found that if they concentrated they could open themselves to the greater world around them and tap into its arcane essence. They called the magic Lymrah, the name coming from an old Sylvan word meaning to see through. Using the power they found that grew in strength depending on where in the world the user was, with it being its strongest at any of the Arcane Portals and major leylines. With it, they could transport themselves to different locations, create weapons made of pure energy, and enact great changes in the world that some say were as grand as the gods themselves. 
When the elves split apart into distinctive subraces the The War of Shattered Souls began not long after on Almelar Island. Lymrah was used regularly in combat wiping hundreds of elves out in single uses. Each new spell was more powerful than the last and with the invention of the poison known as Rytol, the gods knew they needed to step in before the elves destroyed the planet. It wasn't until Corellon took the fourth Portal and split it, effectively cutting off the flow of power, did some consider how detrimental the power was.  Many of the spells that required a vast amount of power were nullified, as were many magical artifacts and weapons. Now only a handful of spells are still able to be used, with many ancient tomes becoming nothing more than texts to study the creation of highly powerful spells. Still, those who seek to learn the power know that it is a fairly dangerous practice, with many having lost their minds and souls to power. Sucked into a void of energy and never to be found again.

Execution

In order to tap into the ley lines one must clear their mind, focusing only on their heart beat. As their focus grows the faint blue, red, green, and or yellow ley lines depending on where the user is should become clearer. From there they should be able to see how the energy flows through themselves, the other beings, and nature around them.

Components and tools

When first learning how to use the power properly herbal suppelments are used to help induce the power but only for the first three or four drops.
