Sanctified

Sanctified are the citizens of Sanctuaries. Generally, they are a peaceful people with little interest in becoming involved in the conflict raging above. But they are not harmless, and will fight like cornered animals to defend their homes. They view upworlders with suspicion. The rare exception that wants to become involved in the world above are exiled to become a Pariahs or join the Scavs.

The Sanctified make extensively use and maintain ancient reactors, factories and mining tech. They lack the infrastructure and knowledge to build new machines. They are able to manufacture some limited replacements for high wear parts, but these replacement parts are made of inferior metals. Mechanos's alloy mix has been forgotten though many have tried to recreate it.

Art & Architecture

Sanctified architecture is extremely angular and devoid of gentle curves. It is predominately made of metals and stone. Their primary forms of artwork are stone relief carvings and metal sculpture. Organic materials like wood or bone are rarely used.

Common Taboos

Upworlders are not permitted beyond the entrance market district unless they intend to join and stay within the sanctuary. A joiner must spend 4 years living in the market district and undergoing purification rituals before being permitted deeper.
