Ferine
Ferine are descendants of those who lived on the outskirts of Hop Kru society long before the Splintering of the Eyes. Some were brave explorers and settlers leading the way into the wilds. Others were distressed by the disagreement between The Eyes and withdrew from Hop Kru society. After nearly 600 years of surviving in the wilderness of Desemshia the Ferine have developed a unique culture of their own.
Now Ferine generally live in small subsistence farming villages or as nomadic foragers deep in the woods of Desemshia. They are seen as wild and feral folk by others.

After the wildlife has picked the bones clean they take the skull and return it to the home of the deceased. The skulls of ancestors are kept as a memorial by the living. After the identiy of the skull is forgotten the deceased is considered to have died a second death. Only after the name is forgotten is the skull buried beneath the home.
