Ramdailos

Ramdailos is a city on the far western edge of Scalados, near the border of the mountains of Draxhaven.

Defences

Since the rapid growth of the city began in the early 1000s, Ramdailos has been concerned about potential attacks from the Chromatic Dragons common to the west, though no major incidents have occurred. An elite guard rides trained gryphons along the city's edge so as to protect from flying threats. Streets are narrow and irregular, and the upturned roof corners hang quite far over them; this would make it difficult for a dragon to pick off any prey. Important buildings like the Hearth of the Heart and the city center are in the lower points of the city, with dense housing and winding streets surrounding them.

Geography

Ramdailos sits high in the Blue Mountains, on steep and uneven land. The Aikovaski River cuts through the town, dividing it into northeastern and southwestern districts. The southwestern district is relatively new, and it has seen significant development over the last century despite its rockier terrain. The mountain views, particularly from the southwestern district, are said to be some of the most beautiful in Scalados.

Natural Resources

Ramdailos sits above a rich vein of ferrochromium ore. Mining and smelting this ore, a major industry in the city, creates a sturdy, corrosion-resistant alloy known as Ramdailos steel.
