Arborcítta

Arborcítta is the cultural capital of Scalados and its second largest city. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful cities in the known world because of its unique blend of traditional wood elven architecture and stunning natural surroundings.

Demographics

Arborcítta is overwhelmingly a wood elven city, with some pockets of moon elven and high elven society. People of other ancestries are often considered outsiders, even after having been in the city for several generations.

Points of interest

The most iconic structure in Arborcítta is the Grand Tree, a 40-story wood-sung building that houses the city's main market square, a small opera house, and the center of town government.   Beneath the Grand Tree is the Grand Park, which stretches all the way from the centrally-located Grand Tree south to the Pontë Néyansar. Tourists and locals alike flock to its sakura paths in the springtime, and it is a center for parades, celebrations, and special events year-round. A dedicated druid circle, the Circle of the Bloompainters, exists solely to nurture and maintain this park.   The Library of Tapestries contains some of the most beautiful and important works of tapestry art in the world, particularly from Moon Elf and Wood Elf culture.   Scalados University, the most prestigious university in Scalados, is located in the Istivin Village neighborhood of Arborcítta. Its Diviner program is particularly prestigious.   The Temple to the Wild is Arborcítta's largest center of worship, following the Wild Dynasty religion. Worshippers of Danu are the most common here, due to the temple's focus on natural life and the city's close proximity to Eldanír-in-Danu, but dedicated worship and meditation spaces to all six major Wild Gods are housed here, as well as a few shrines to minor deities like Majere. The majority of the temple is partially or entirely outdoors, and the ancient stonework amphitheater where main services are held is the second-oldest structure in Arborcítta (after the tree from which the Grand Tree was sung) and the oldest completed structure in Arborcítta.   Turion Circle is a small cul-de-sac in the southwestern corner of Arborcítta, in the wealthy neighborhood of Arnanóre Heights. It is often hailed as the finest and most well-maintained collection of wood-sung buildings anywhere in the world.

Tourism

Arborcítta is primarily known for its dazzling wood-sung buildings, including the Grand Tree, a 40-story building that contains the central market, civic center, and multiple auditoriums. It is also known for its beautiful parks, colorful and lively festivals, and long history as a hub of arts and culture. Tourism spikes in the spring as visitors arrive for the blossoming of the cherry trees throughout the city.
