The Erwen-Renvaren Friendship Treaty {stone}

Few people can say that they have fought together against the Dwarven Kingdom, as it borders only one country on one side and a conflicted area on the other. A time long ago, inscribed on this stele, a treaty between two people was written to end these conflicts that were happening and it was memorialized eternally since.
— Everam, Teller of Nimenra
A stele that stands in the south has great importance to Kingdom of Ravero and its people. It describes a treaty between the Dwarfs of the Mountains and that of the Renvaren people which involved the end of violence between the two people. It is signed by two leaders of two peoples and has been a treaty of peace kept by both sides for as long as it has stood.

Purpose

A war between humans and dwarfs have been a nonexistent thought in the two thousand years of recorded history that exists between the two people. But before Valen walked on Nimenra, there were fighting between the tribes of humans and the Dwarfs several times. Several times humans attacked settlements of Dwarfs in the lowlands that were within the Dwarven Kingdoms realm. The Dwarfs fought of attacks and attacked back, but no one was the victor except Baalem and Orios, for they could take the dead with them.
Eventually, a tribe of Renvarens called Herrnmeids would fight off another human tribe and form an alliance with the Dwarfs of the Mountains, as it says on the stele. With that alliance, the Herrnmeids was a leader in the southern parts of the Renvaren lands. On the stele, it was recorded a treaty that the Herrnemeids signed with the Dwarfs, that peace would be lasting between them and the Renvarens. If either side needed aid, they could call them in any shape and form. Peace was its main purpose and so it has been since.

Historical Details

Background

Long before Marlun was discovered and any human country had formed, tribes and nomadic based society was roaming Telamirein. One of these tribes where the Renvaren tribe of Herrnmeids that lived in the southern parts of what is the Kingdom of Ravero. They lived close to the river Deundess in the south-east and thus close to the borders of the mountains and close to the Dwarven Kingdoms. They would occasionally make raids against other tribes and against the Dwarfs and became famed warriors. The Dwarven Kingdom, hardy as it is, fought off several attempts from Renvaren raiders over time. Then one day there was a nomadic Renvaren tribe, called Gerrens, that attacked with a larger force and several villages was destroyed for the Dwarfs. They also attacked the Herrnmeids but unsuccessfully struck a vital blow. This motioned the Herrnmeids to aid the Dwarfs against the invaders. This sparked the change of relations between the Renvaren people of Herrnmeids and the Dwarfs, called the Dwarfs of the Mountains (due to one of the kings personally came down to fight). The chief of Herrnmeids and the king of Dwarfs made a pact to aid each other and not to violate each other's ways of living and people. Renvarens from other tribes nearby came to the meeting and showed their respects for the treaty and also agreed to not attack the Dwarven Kingdom. In memory of and to sign the treaty, a stone stele made of fine blue and white marble stone was raised and written on.

History

The tribe of Herrnmeids eventually became a larger tribe and a chiefdom where the king called himself a Chief-King. They ruled over a larger part of the south and a large portion of the border region to the Dwarven Kingdom. Unfortunately for the Herrnmeids, their reign would be cut short around 600 V.D. when a Renvaren tribe that would eventually become the Kingdom of Ravero, defeated them and took all their lands. The Chief-King of Ravero would later meet with the King of Dwarfs to sign a pact of friendship, the King of Dwarfs noted that one already existed and showed him the stele, which the Chief-King signed and ratified together with the Dwarf King.
