Caistone

A rugged and industrious town on the northwestern borders of the Redcrest Mountains, Caistone is an economic powerhouse. The mountains offer a wealth of valuable natural resources, which combined with the immense power local rivers and hot springs provide, ensure large-scale production of goods. The town rivals the productivity of Dragontale despite being half the size of the city, and the Crestguard has a strong presence in Caistone.
The town is ruled by a council, locally elected but overseen by the king and their advisors. They are in charge of the day-to-day operations, local decisions and law enforcement, however, the Crestguard are in control of the town's imports and exports. A large stone hall in the center of town serves as both a headquarters for the council and a place for locals to gather, discuss local issues and vote on policies and laws.
The many quarries produce large amounts of stone and marble, and the painstaking processes of cutting this rock, storing it and getting ready for transport happen day and night, very rarely is there a break in operations. Many trails lead from the town up into the mountains where deep excavation and mining take place, trails and mechanisms exist to ferry loads up and down the mountains aided by automatons.

Morelli Quarry

The largest and most well-known of the quarrying companies in Caistone, they provide exquisite red marble slabs of the highest quality. Their cutting and treatment methods continue to be a well-kept trade secret.

Oracle's Perch

There is more to the mountains than simply providing natural resources for harvest, a few make their homes up here away from the busy life of the town. A figure known as the oracle has a house atop a jagged rock formation, it is said those that who can make the climb may seek an audience and have their fortunes told.

Walrath Hatchery

The mountains also provide a secure location away from the town where creatures can be trained, most notably the mounts used by the Crestguard such as Dragonnels, Hippogriffs and Griffons. The Walrath Hatchery specialises in training rare and exotic creatures for general use as well as the development of excellent combat skills.
