Siabhran Territories

Located on Yerenth to the east of Eldimyr, the so-called Siabhran Territories are less a nation with definable boundaries and more a loose designation describing much of the otherwise "uncivilized" faewild on the continent. Its boundaries can be roughly sketched as far north as Maegrimmir and Samra, as far west as the outer border of Eldimyr, and as far south as the northern border of Vendramyr. Nevertheless, while the region is largely dominated by the group from which it draws its name, the siabhra are hardly the only monsters -- or even sentient creatures -- present in the area.

Fauna & Flora

Owing to its unwarded nature, this vast forest has been classified as "faewild" by the civilized races on the plane. That is, the magic there still bears an untamed, unpredictable element that fosters an environment of increased mutations and a shorter evolutionary timeline. As such, savage species, both sentient and non-sapient, battle one another for control over territory and carve out a harsh, unforgiving life there where the only certainty is that there is always a bigger predator lurking somewhere nearby.   Much of the region is thickly forested with only occasional breaks in the canopy, the huge trees reaching high up enough into the sky that many things on the forest floor rarely experience sunlight. Even during the winter months, when some of the trees shed their leaves, the thickness of the branches and other forms of life still choke out most natural light. As a result, the flora and fauna that live beneath these conditions often sport varying degrees of bioluminescence, and even nighttime beneath the canopy there is often a brightly lit, vivid affair.   Whether it be plant, animal, or fungi, most living things in the Siabhran Territories are predatory in some fashion. Even lingering spirits, known as sluagh, that haunt certain areas may seek out the living to feed on their energy. Fortunately for the mortals that may find occasion to walk there, most of the sluagh are little more than shades, spiritual echoes of emotionally-charged encounters left as an afterimage and repeating the same actions time after time, with no awareness of what else may transpire around them. Indeed, one of the principle dangers in the area are siabhran Dullahan, who ride out on their nightmares in regular patrols around the siabhran cities during the night. As these cities phase onto the aphotic plane during daylight hours, these are the safest times to travel the region -- so long as proper precautions are taken against the other large predators that live there.
