Navigator Guard Military Formation in Namkural | World Anvil

Navigator Guard

Even after the founding of Vendramyr as a proper country and its recognition as a major power on Namkural, the luna sidhen deity Haxyla remained wary of what the future held for her people. The peace treaty with the Eldimyran Empire was freshly signed, and the woman-turned-god worried for whether the document would be honored by their former enemies. Though Vendramyr's government built a military that remains strong to this day, in order to defend the luna sidhe's interests both at home and abroad, she took extra steps to ensure their race would not be taken advantage of as it had in the past.   To this end, Haxyla founded the Navigator Guard. This elite order seeks to defend not Vendramyr's interests but those of the luna sidhe. Even if the nation were to fall, or be infiltrated by outside forces, the Navigator Guard exists to ensure that the luna sidhe never face the same sort of exploitation and disaster they once had.   Though they are headquartered on the mainland, the Navigator Guard have safe houses, bases of operations, and resources all throughout the country -- and some outside of their borders. Trained to be the best of the best, they excel in all things magical and martial, regardless of which weapons they choose to wield or what school of magic they practice. They answer directly to Haxyla herself, outside the influence of the Thaumaturge and the Parandor Trading Company. In this, they cannot be bought, bribed, or threatened. While they do not classify themselves as a religious order, their patron's influence and protection are clear. Wherever a member of the Guard go, they are backed by her authority and command the utmost respect. In particular, they are designed as a force to be reckoned with even for Sozalle's sea witches and Nalkalos' berserkers... on the off chance that it is ever for the betterment of the luna sidhe for them to be fought.
