Creekfall

The small farming village of Creekfall has always been a stable and reliable point of rest in the important trade route between Vernoff and Rivershore. Caravans carrying magical items and supplies, along with minerals, jewels and gold extracted in the Emberstone Mine need Creekfall to be a resupply point. It is additionally important as it provides crops and food to the neighboring city of Vernoff. However, it has been constantly under the threat of Gnolls attacking, as it is right next to the Laughing Forest.

However, because of its importance to the Torpin County and the Hamonnet Duchy, Creekfall has always been defended by patrols of guards and soldiers coming from Vernoff, as well as those guarding the trade caravans. As a result of that, the Baron and his family, have always been aloof and uncaring about the population, and as long as production quotas are met, his family does not mind pocketing the profits from any excess. The people have therefore lived in average conditions for generations, but since the crops have always been plenty, the political situation and the balance of power are very stable.

The baron is at the top, receiving most of the income from tariffs on trade caravans, and profits from the crops. Bellow him is the small temple of Vitaria, which oversees the crop production, cares for the people, and is paid directly by the baron so that he has full control over the town. Last are the citizens of the village, always grumbling, but being content with the safety they have from the gnolls, and the Church of Vitaria caring for them. Besides working the fields, there are also a number of Inns that travelers and merchants stay in, such as The Full Hearth Inn, The Hungry Goblin and The Sharpened Pike, the latter catering more to guards and soldiers. There is also a shop called Odennas Curiosities where an old lady sells fake magical trinkets.

Myths and Legends:

The most famous myth in Creekfall is that of Odenna the Hag. A woman living in the village, who was found to be an evil hag, and was chased to the forest. There are no sightings of her but the myth lives on, as a way for mothers to get their children to behave and eat all their food, otherwise Odenna might come for them.
