Emberstone
Emberstone is a material found exclusively in the Emberstone Mine which was thought to be of no use, until it was discovered that it had some sort of magical properties. The person who discovered that cannot be ascertained, as everyone of the people leading research now claims that they had a hand in the original discovery. There have not been any major discoveries after that though, and some have stopped trying to find it at completely.
