Steelpick Clan

The fall of Karak Drotha eradicated almost all the clans which lived there. One of very few exceptions is the Steelpick clan, one of the largest non-main clans of the hold. In their past they served as warriors, earning themselves the place of the clan in charge of the military of Karak Drotha. Being one of the most prestigious clans meant that they had the ability to send out large caravans to trade and transfer goods between the Karak, Drotha Thrak and the nearby settlements. It was one of those large trading caravans that were the only survivors, after the impenetrable stronghold that was their home was destroyed. Those remnants had formed into the Steelpick Mercenaries and had seemingly moved on. But dwarves never forget.

Recent history:

On the 10th of 522 P.F. the steelpick clan was once again reformed under the leadership of Brokvar Steelpick after having reclaimed their ancestral home from the Greenskin Gruumsh Clans that inhabited its second and third floor. It is now their goal to defend their home from the enemies that lie bellow them, and expand their settlement in to to be what it once was. They have however taken a large number of casualties and their numbers have been reduced to around 30-40, with a newly lit fire in their hearts however, the future is looking bright for the reclamation of their past glory.

History

The Steelpick clan started off as one of the first clans to migrate to Karak Drotha, back when the city was still in its infancy. They quickly became some of the most renowned smiths and fighters in the Karak, and while not always in contention for the throne, they did have one of their number become King, the famous Rathor, The Unbroken . While he was a great King of the Karak, and his story is still told up to now, it was not enough to push the clan above the two major clans who contended for the seat every generation. While they did not become the best smiths to claim that throne, they did become renowned fighters and their caravans were used by the other clans when they wanted to transport or store a shipment or artifact of extreme importance.
