Hero
Classic 'do-no-wrong' types, adhering to rules and laws and going after those who don't. Avoiding breaking the law without very good reason, or in dire desperation, but even then...
Vigilante
Good guys that are willing to bend and sometimes break the rules to catch the baddie. Often looked at disapprovingly by Heroes and nervously by lesser Villains and Rogues for their often questionable methods.
Villain
The main rivals to Heroes. Typically unafraid to do whatever it takes to get what they're after, or just do something 'because they can'. Though they might take payment to do something, it doesn't necessarily ensure loyalty. Seeing them do good is rarer, and generally driven by less savory motivations.
Rogue
Most rogues can be hired to do something with some form of payment, though not all will stay bought. They're less likely to stab someone in the back after doing good than a villain. The better among them do often have their own Code-of-honor that they'll stick to, even if they still do questionable things for their goals.
Hero/Vigilante
Heroic types that are willing to bend, and rarely break, the rules. Toeing the line but not to the same extent as straight Vigilantes. It isn't as well known when they do, either.
Villain/Rogue
Villainous figures that aren't as bad as pure Villains but aren't really Rogues, they may still try to kill you later, after all. They can do good without nefarious reasoning being behind it, though it may take a bit of convincing depending on who and what are involved in the situation. They may also simply be Villainous types with some form of 'Code of Honor' that they stick to, even if their moral compass stays more to the questionable side than regular rogues.
Vigilante/Rogue
Typically leaning more toward 'good', these are the ones that walk deep in the grey area of reality. Almost just as likely to do something bad as something good. The reasoning varies, from starting to lose themselves, to they've simply seen too much and see no other way, to other reasons that are their own. Though there's some that've just tossed their moral compass out the window entirely.
Rogue/Vigilante
Typically leaning more toward 'bad', these are the ones that walk deep in the grey area of reality. Almost just as likely to do something bad as something good. The reasoning varies, some trying to change their ways, others have simply always operated in this manner. Though there's also some that've just tossed their moral compass out the window entirely.
