Nelari
"If you want something speak quickly, but come no closer unless you want death."
Physical Description
Special abilities
She is also, through a mix of magic and the illness afflicting her, able to control plants. Often using vines or roots to grab and strangle opponents. It has also given her a very vague control of some of Praetorian Hamidon's creations, though this is usually limited to simply pacifying them.
Unfortunately, while this illness gives her a lot of power, its origin as something Hamidon created has some severe side-effects. The only reason she's still alive is the strange reaction between it and her magic, which slowed it's progression greatly. Complete blackouts aren't uncommon for her to experiance, and her memory becomes increasingly blury when she uses this side of her powers. Coupled with a loose mental link to Praetoria's Hamidon wearing on her sanity, its questionable if Nelari is even still in control.
Incarnate
Her status as an Incarnate is questionable but suspected. Many consider her a high threat regardless of if she is or not.
Specialized Equipment
Weapon
Magitech Projector: A small device that fits comfortably in its weilder's hand. When inactive it doesn't appear as much, looking a little worn but taken care of over years of use. However once activated with magic this small device projects either the form of a bow or a small blade, though it may be possible other weapons can be created with a bit of tinkering. The projection is a translucent greenish-blue glow, solid to the touch and hazardously sharp when a blade. Arrows are conjured using the weilder's own magic, not a feature of the projector.Other Notable Gear
Todo: mask, goggles, maybe detail the other stuff even though they have no relation to her powers.Mental characteristics
Personal history
Most of Nelari's history has been lost over time. Records from several years before the Primal-Praetorian war say she was part of Powers Division as one of the less known members. An archer with powers given by Magic and Tech origins. Evidence pointed to her being a Resistance sympathizer and had her branded a traitor. The Resistance cell she worked with most attempted to smuggle her out of the city when they found out.
The smuggling party was found and attacked, nearly everyone captured or killed. Nelari being one of two escapees that fled into tunnels that were discovered to be infested by Hamidon.
Somehow, she managed to find a way to the surface outside the sonic fencing. There she survived the hostile wilderness using her magic and a few jury rigged devices for various purposes. As well as a vague mental link to the Hamidon, caused by the illness she caught early on.
Nelari remained hidden out there for most of the years between her disappearance and the Primal-Praetorian war. It wasn't until a member of Powers Division saw her on the shoreline in one of her rarer visits near the city that anyone knew she was alive, if not that it was her.
This same member of Powers made a few trips out to the wilderness to try finding her, hoping to convince Nelari to come to the city where it was safe. Though she had no interest in returning to Praetoria. And they quickly discovered she was infected with a strain of the Tellurian Plague, though without any idea how contagious she was or how she was still alive. Despite the risk they continued heading out and trying to speak with her, occasionally making failed attempts to convince her to return to the city.
One of the Praetors learned of Nelari and her strange case and wanted to study the disease, weather or not she was willing to come. Her growing friend in Powers was sent out to try convincing her to come to the city one more time. But she remained set in her decision to stay outside.
Their next meeting was a trap in some infested tunnels, a small team had been sent with a device to restrain her and disable her magic. Unfortunately for them, her desperation to escape lead to her drawing on power from the illness, revealing her control over infested plants. Blindly lashing out with vines and roots, quickly taking down the entire team and the device. She collapsed shortly after, another Praetor's agent that had remained hidden was the one to retrieve her and report what had happened.
The tests and experiments that followed fueled a growing hatred in her, and did little to help with fighting the Tellurian Plague. Eventually she was dumped in the tunnels like that Praetor's other abandoned projects
The Resistance found her, weak but alive, and took her in again. Making use of her powers once she'd recovered, though she doesn't entirely trust anyone anymore. They find her powers useful, at least when they can get her hatred directed at their enemies.
