Elyne
Elyne is located to the south of Lirhan, and is the closest of the Seven Seven Satrapies to the nation of Corsene. Elyne is a comparatively flat area, sparse and dominated by flat plains. It also has the lowest rainfall of any of the Satrapies.
Due to its location Elyne is the main location for trade between Corsene and the Magus Conclave, and also the most active militarily, with a high number of Conclave graduates being assigned to its defence, as well as boasting a high number of traders and diplomats. Over the last century Elyne has been a center of both mundane and arcane innovation.
Demography and Population
Elyne has an extensive service industry dedicated to supporting the trades people, dimplimats, Conclave mages and military outposts dedicated to the Magia’s defence. This has also encouraged artists, inventors, musicians, and crafters to congregate in Elyne cities, where they can often gain patronage.
Those living outside of major settlements often live nomadicly, following grazing flocks and Elyne’s inconsistant rainfall.
It is common for young people in Elyne to embark on Earthwalks traveling between cities and settlements and visiting places of cultural significance before settling down. While some young people return to their communities, others choose to stay in the places they visit along their journeys.
Religion
Like all nations of the Magus Conclave, Elyne practices Ioism, the worship of Asgorath the World Shaper.
Before the Conclave worship of The Wonderbringer was common in Elyne, and while worship of the old gods has ceased, the Wonderlight Festival is still an important cultural tradition in Elyne.
Foreign Relations
Elyne is the only nation in the Conclave to trade directly with Corsene, and often acts as an intermediary during political and trade negotiations.
Due to concerns over Corsene and it’s importance in defending the Bay of Souls Elyne has a significant military presence. Further, as Elyne receives a larger than usual number of contracted graduates from the Magia, Elyne has a large number of advocates within the Conclaves political structures, as many mages have spent a large portion of their youth living and working in Elyne.
Education
Education is encouraged in Elyne, with most children attending local schools between the ages of seven and sixteen. These places of learning are run by the community, with it being considered prestigious to volunteer ones time and expertise to educate the young.
