Ioism
Io, or Asgorath is the Deity primarily worshiped in the Magus Conclave.
Mythology & Lore
Under Ioism it was Io who created the world, and the cosmos beyond and who has shaped in over the ages and years since.
In centuries of toil Io shaped and reshaped the planes, starting first with their own realm, and then the endless reaches of the Astral Sea and each of the outer planes, then the elemental planes, and then finally the material plan and it’s border realms; the Feywild, Shadowfell and Etherial.
Io is the creator of the Multiverse, an Over-god who created not only the realms themselves, but the laws of nature, of magic divine and arcane. Io is holder of all knowledge and the centre to which all else returns.
It is understood that Io, as the creator of all, must also have created the beings that were worshiped in times gone by. The old gods who once ruled over the mortal planes. In these times Io worked from afar, shaping and re-shaping the world not through direct intervention, but through the natural progression of the laws, life and worlds that were Io's creation.
Divine Origins
In the time before the formation of the Conclave when the worship of The Old Gods were common there are few historical records of Io, and certainly the name Io did not come into common usage prior to Anatha's ascension as the first Divine. During these early periods there are some references to both "Asgorath" and "The World Shaper" as the creator of the planes, but few records exist of traditions or worship practices.
After the time of Silence, worship of Asgorath became more common, as people responded to the disappearance of the Old Gods and sought other sources of Divine grace. During this time the nations of the modern Conclave fell into active warfare, with many nations blaming the others for the God's abandonment, or fighting over the remaining relics of their Deities power. However it was not until Anatha came, almost a century later that true Ioism took root in the Conclave.
Anatha travelled the each of the Satrapies, starting in Lirhan and the other Northern nations, overturning the imbalances of power, and calming the disasters that had been left in the wake of the Old God's fall before finally taking her seat in the Mageria as the first Divine.
