Mira
Mira is a young girl of around six years. She came to Vladykino with parents (identity not known) who had come to help rebuild the village. One of the last survivors of the carnage wreaked by a pack of wolf shapechangers who killed her family shortly thereafter, she was rescued from them by Misha Rzhevsky (with assists to Alden and the wolves themselves, who seemed unconcerned about letting her go, likely to help spread tale of their vengeance against humans). Misha took her with him inside the Cave of the Sleeping Bogatyrs, as he was looking for the Serpent Slayers, who in turn had entered the complex earlier. Mira helped him find it, as she saw them moving the boulder to go in. She was left by the doomstone at the entrance, while the Serpent Slayers went up ahead to kill a three-headed serpent. It was then that Mira started making friends with Svetlana, who came to regard her as a younger sister. Later, she also made friends with late-arriving Malina, who gave her a bouquet of flowers while she played outside the cave entrance. Mira told Malina of her parents, who were slain by the wolves, and who she will never see again. Then she took her inside to meet the other members of the party.
Along with Svetlana, Mira was then carried across the Pit of Bones, and ferried across the River of Mead, before arriving before the Shimmering Curtain. There, Svetlana grabbed her hand, and prevented her from going through, which would have certainly resulted in the child's death (going through it turned Yuri to stone). The child waited there with her friend until their companions slew the viy, causing the Curtain to vanish.
When the Serpent Slayers finally left the cave, it was decided that Mira would accompany Yuri and Svetlana to Omena, where he would find them safe lodgings before riding to meet his companions in Ladeisk. That was the last time Yuri's companions saw the girl.
