Wolf 359
Wolf 359 is a Red Dwarf star within the Sol Central District, lying roughly 7.9ly from Sol. It is home to one occupied planet, Kassandra, a hycean world with a global ocean. Like Alpha Centauri and Barnard's Star, Wolf 359 was an early target for colonisation, being settled relatively early into the expansionist era of the First Solar Republic.
Kassandra
Kassandra is a super earth, covered with a vast and endless saltwater ocean. It is a hycean world, with polar ice caps, where the majority of Kassandran colonies are found. These ice sheets make up the only solid, and permanent landmass on the planet. Beneath the waves, the depths of the Kassandran Ocean have never been fully charted, stretching far deeper than any Earth ocean. At the very bottom lie countless vents and life-giving substances. However, Kassandra itself was not home to any life prior to the introduction of terrestrial aquatic species, most of which have been specially adapted to handle the occasional solar flaring events. Kassandra's polar settlements are extremely expansive, having grown to encompass most available land mass. The incredible weight of the cities above has begun to push the ice further into the ocean, with its capital, Hassobe, having to adapt ancient anti-flooding technology to the modern day.
