Harold had poor fortunes during the civil war and his home was razed to the ground during the fighting. For most of the war he had no home and simply wandered with the army and lead where he could and fought as necessary. Once the war was over his lands were restored to him, but restoring them would be extremely difficult and take several years. Therefore he turned them over to his 18-year-old son, Siggert, and decided to take his chance at courting the Queen when she made it known that she was seeking a consort.
Harold is strong, smart, and responsible. He is also a widower whose first wife, Ladrrean, died when their son was about ten.
