Kingdom of Nalkon

Nalkon lies to the west of the Empire of Malgrii, and is a peaceful trading partner, although it was not always so. The landlocked Kingdom controls trade through the Great Rages, to the south, and through the Minor Rages, to the west.   Nalkon is made up of a royal ruler (king or queen) whose counselors are chosen every five years from the seven Royal Houses. Each house chooses their respective council members. These houses are loosely related by blood. The ruler, currently a king, has final word on all laws, but is known to listen well to his councilors.

Demographics

Nalkon is made up mostly of humans. There are a few Ælfs, Jarai, Chujarai, and Gnar scattered throughout the kingdom, but few enough that they are noticeable when seen.

Government

Ruled by a king and queen who have seven counselors and several diplomats.

Defences

The armies of Nalkon have been used mostly for keeping the peace between internal parties - disputes between cities, feudal barons, and the like, or patrolling borders and keeping its people safe. The world is full of strange creatures and monsters, which the soldiers are often called upon to defend the people against. Most settlements are walled and have a basic militia, even if it is made up from local conscripts (men and women of the general population). Nalkon has not had a war with any outside nation in 300 years, even though there are sometimes the shaking of fists between them and one of the kingdoms of the Malgrii Empire.

Infrastructure

There are many several provinces and political territories within the kingdom. It is a mish-mash of feudal territories and council ruled cities and towns.
