Angels

Purpose

Angels were first created by God to control demons and protect the mortal world from those demons. Once early humans were created, God tasked the angels with passing on divine knowledge. As a result, angels helped build human civilzation and were considered gods themselves until this made God jealous.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Angels have no physical form and take on forms as needed to interact with the mortal world.

Genetics and Reproduction

Angels cannot reproduce and only God can create more angels.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Angels can sleep and eat in order to satisfy their energy needs on Earth, or they may return to Heaven (if they are Blessed angels) or Hell (if they are Fallen angels ) to rebuild their energy.

Behaviour

Angels often interact with the mortal world without making their true identities known. Fallen angels usually go about their lives doing what they can to protect mortals from demons or from other humans with violent tendencies. Most Blessed angels only visit the mortal world unless it is necessary for their own devices, leaving the mortal world to the Fallen.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Angels may appear globally.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Angels can sense other supernatural and paranormal beings. They have various magical abilities that differ by the angel. These are known as an angel's grace. Each angel also has slightly different divine knowledge, allowing them to pass on different things to different peoples and creating varying human cultures.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

Many Fallen angels work with the Mortal Protection Agency to help mortals, continuing to fulfill their purpose on Earth.

Gender Ideals

Angels have no concept of gender, but follow the gender expectartions of the mortals they are interacting with. Many angels are frustrated that humans have created concepts of gender, as the gender binary was not something any angel taught them.

Relationship Ideals

Some angels form relationships with each other, but these relationships are usually casual. Fallen angels often form relationships with mortals that sometimes last full human lifetimes.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Angels, by nature, know and understand all spoken and written languages on Earth.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Blessed angels do not think highly about mortals, despite it being expected that they protect them. Fallen angels care very much about all mortals, not only humans. Other paranormal and supernatural beings respect angels because they are more powerful than they are, and because they aren't able to tell the difference between Blessed and Fallen angels. The Fallen are often more highly trusted, and many fear the Blessed.
