Aebeald's Gap

Geography

Aebeald's Gap, now more commonly known as the Plains of Ruin, is located in the northernmost end of the Kingdom of Faldarion where the Kingdom meets the border with the Free Lands. The area contains two major forests known as Frostwood Forest and the Wailing Woods. It also consists of the easternmost portion of the Ravenscrag Mountains. Forming a divide between the Ravenscrag Mountains and Frostwood Forest to the northwest and the Wailing Woods to the east and southeast is a sizeable plain that ultimately runs into the tundra of the Free Lands. Dotted throughout the plain are several ruins and active settlements.

Fauna & Flora

The flora and fauna of the region have largely recovered from the devastation of the Great Northern War and there is a wide variety of forest, mountainous, and plains flora and fauna found throughout the region.

Natural Resources

The Gap contains ample arable farmland as well as a sizeable amount of available timber in its two forests. There is also a series of rich mineral veins that can be accessed via the Glitterdeep Mines though the mines were abandoned during the Great Northern War and have yet to be re-opened.
