Starmetal
Starmetal was placed by the Gods not in the world, but in orbit- small globules of shining metal that are enchanted to hurtle down to earth semi-regularly. These meteors strike distant locations, specifically avoiding settlements entirely. Some are larger than others, but in all cases starmetal is rare.
In its raw form it is a deep purple, darkening during the forging process into violet-black. It is lighter than steel and even stronger- easily outclassing even the most artfully forged iron or steel of this time period. It is also remarkably easy to forge and enchant, easily twisting into some of the strongest and most sophisticated items. Starmetal is a delight to warriors and smiths alike.
Most astoundingly, starmetal glows purple when within 100 feet of starmetal from another deposit. Small starmetal pellets embedded in amulets are often used to try and detect new deposits by explorers.
The first ever Starmetal was created for the Armor of Rosha, spouse of Ishkibal by Halcyon. After that, it has rained down regularly.

Material Characteristics
In its ore-state, starmetal is violet, shiny, and intricate- blobbing into artful shapes that survive impact. In metal state, it is a darker purple metal.
Geology & Geography
Most Starmetal has never been recovered and awaits discovery- either in uninhabited wasteland or deep in the ocean. Some of the luckier strikes have been in temporarily depopulated areas relatively near civilization- and have been famous incidents producing high-value artifacts. These have occurred in: Ralev (Desmia ), Kagaren (Stildane ), Lurelay (Izekra ), Verzon (Stildane ), Sikrek (Inahng ), Weteysa (Inahng), Kakoru (Samvara ), Shekota (Samvara ), Aizidi (Ekraht ), Amizar (Sonev ), Isharo (Garadel ), Igristal (Garadel ), Imzira (Ibith ).
All other starmetal deposits have been slowly dragged in by explorers around the world, often in small amounts. Legendary lost expeditions are common, and rumors abound of starmetal treasure maps.
