Larazel

Larazel is a continent between worlds to a certain extent. Between Australia and India in size, Larazel is a divided by large mountains and dense rainforest. Parts of it are more Samvaran, some parts of it are more Garadek, but much of it is culturally distinct while carrying influences of both. Larazel is a continent of crossroads, with Sonevan, Selkie, and Garadek traders all bringing their goods, languages, religions, and ideas.    For all of this, much of Larazel's culture remains undiscovered and isolated- the rough terrain that divides Larazel also insulates many groups from outside intrusion or invasion. And given the region's long history of outside invasion and exploitation, many groups would rather not interact with the "world market" and empires that use it as a weapon. That isn't to say they don't trade or interact with outsiders- they just don't go out of their way to be known by the world of crowns and conquest.

Geography

Larazel is 2,277,000 square miles of land attached to Samvara/Avetem by a 176-mile-across land bridge. Its Northwestern peninsula is tropical along the coasts, with a large inland sea (194 by 575 miles across!) in the center, connected by tiny tributaries to the greater ocean. This inland sea contains unique sealife and protects and nourishes a massive reef system at its heart - a massive Octoperson metropolitan system cut off from the rest of the world, a source of inspiration for legendary lost kingdoms. To the North of this sea is a temperature bubble of sorts, where the tropics give way to unusually mild and sometimes arid climate. All throughout Northern Larazel are huge lake and river systems, feeding robust (often non-urban) populations.     Down the spine of Larazel juts a huge 1524 mile long mountain range, with peaks reaching 15,000 feet above sea level. Unknown numbers of isolated Prism groups live in these peaks, though the coasts on either side are fairly urban as one travels Southward. The great open plains of Kiozel open up South of the mountains, with coastal kingdoms ringing the edges. The Southern fringe opens up into two peninsulas that look like flower petals. Insulated by mountain ranges and lined with subtropical forest, the coasts of these peninsulas are bustling urban centers.
