Selkie
Selkies are a subtype of Human blessed by The Chimera. Selkies are born unusually sharp canine teeth and their webbed hands and feet, but they don't receive their full blessing until adulthood. If at some point they undergo The Test of the Depths -typically as a coming of age ceremony- the ocean grants them their Sacred Pelt. A large otter pelt perfectly fitted to their body, the Sacred Pelt allows them to transform into a Giant Otter at will and back.
Selkies can be found sailing throughout most of the known world. As the Test of the Depths can only take place at the Khilaian Isles, many selkies consider The Khilaia an important authority in selkie matters.
As Player Characters, Selkies have the following statistics:
- +2 Con, +1 Dex
- Can hold breathe for 15 minutes.
- Advantage on Athletics Checks to swim or dive
- If they have access to their Sacred Pelt, can transform into a Giant Otter as an Action. Otter form shares their HP and stats, has access to a 1d10 + Strength natural attack, cannot use weapons or tools, and has a 45 foot swim speed and a 15 ft land speed. Can hold breath for hours.
