Lotharingia
Lotharingia was one of the successor states to The Palatinate after the death of the empire's first emperor Volkmar I. Volkmar never declared a successor, so some lands of The Palatinate were divided up between his children and top generals. One of these states became Lotharingia. Lotharingia is situated under the Cragmaw Heights with the capital city of Lothar being an ancient dwarven city that humans renamed. The principality is rich with natural resources making it a suitable backer for the imperial crown. Several of Latharingia's princes have also been elected emperor in time's past. Other than humans there is also a heavy population of gnomes and dwarves within the principality lending their smithing & tinkering abilities. This led Lotharingia to be the first state to create the Warforged.
