Sweland
After the dissolution of the Thaloran Empire, the Continent fell into chaos. There was a power vacuum with different tribes, races, and people all vying for supremacy. A group of knights known as the Brotherhood of Tyr banded together to provide some sort of protection for the people. The ranks of this knightly order eventually grew along with their influence. They were granted land from local rulers, and this land was Sweland. Sweland soon grew from a state with many disconnected lands into centralized state, with the Grand Master of the Brotherhood being granted a dukedom from the first emperor of The Palatinate. No grand duke from the duchy has ever been elected emperor due to the fear that they might show more loyalty to the Brotherhood of Tyr than The Palatinate. Regardless, the Grand Duchy of Sweland has had considerable influence within the empire due to their close relations with Ostral and Hamor.
