Ostral
As its name would suggest, Ostral is the eastern most kingdom within The Palatinate. Along with being the eastern most kingdom it is by far one of the biggest and if not, the most powerful within the empire. The kingdom originated as a small duchy known as the Duchy of Vilstatt. It was led by the House of Vilstatt which took their name from the city and area. The Palatinate fell into disarray after the death of Emperor Volkmar, and the Duchy of Vilstatt seized the opportunity to grow in size, power, and wealth. They did this through political alliances, marriage, and conquest. This would eventually graduate them from the Duchy of Vilstatt to the Kingdom of Ostral. This would put them at odds with the Kingdom of Mehrklav as both regularly try to vie for Palatine control. This came to a head in the 4th Era with the War of Palatine Succession. In the end, Ostral and its allies emerged victorious, with their king, Leonhard VII seated upon the Palatine throne.
